Titleist sells 1.4 million golf balls per day. Needless to say, “That’s A LOT!” As any great business would do, they gathered their marketing crew together to look for ways they could sell more golf balls. When it came down to it, Titleist realized that the more frequently someone golfed and longer throughout life he/she played, he/she would lose more golf balls just by default to the woods and lakes and would have to buy new ones.
So how does Titleist get people to play more frequently and longer throughout life? It removes those barriers which prevent golfers from playing as much as they would like. The biggest barrier: Poor Health and Injury.

Over the past several years, Titleist has invested millions of dollars into developing the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI). TPI, co-founded by Chiropractor, Dr. Greg Rose, and Golf Pro, Dave Phillips, has performed extensive research and analyzed the best in the game and thousands of other golfers. What resulted from this research? Dr. Greg and Dave, along with their team of health professionals and golf pros, discovered the necessities and commonalities between the golf swing and a golfer’s biomechanics. They discovered how guys like Jim Furyk can have such an awkward swing but still hit the ball at an elite level. The amazing thing is that all great ball strikers, from Jim Furyk to Tiger Woods, have the same kinematic sequence of generating speed and transferring speed throughout their bodies. Interestingly these same golfers who play hundreds of rounds throughout the year have very few injuries especially in comparison to all other golfers not in the PGA.
Many say that golf is mostly mental. This statement may be true, but when you remove all the limitations to your swing and develop the strength and flexibility required for the biomechanics of a golf swing, the game sure does become a heck of a lot easier. Not only that, but with the proper biomechanics you will be able to prevent injuries and golf more frequently and longer throughout your life.
Proper biomechanics is the key to performing at elite levels while preventing injuries at the same time. All great ball strikers begin their swing from the proper position and generate power from their feet. If performed properly, a golfer will transfer this power in sequence from their feet and up through their legs, pelvis, torso, and arms and ultimately out through the golf club.
